Below are a few interesting things I have run across on the web over the past week or two:

Idaho state record rainbow trout: The 61-year-old Idaho state record for a rainbow trout has fallen.  A rainbow just over 20 pounds, 34.25 inches long, & 22.25 inches in girth was caught on the Snake River just above American Falls Reservoir on July 29.

Fishy Kid: Inspired by two fathers who enjoy the sport of fly fishing and want to do our part in passing along the virtues of the outdoors to our children as well as to families within the online angling community.

The Fish Schtick: A cool new fly fishing podcast hosted by Brian Bennet (co-captain of Moldy Chum & Patagonia fly fishing sales manager) and Teeg Stouffer (founder & executive director of Recycled Fish).

Recycled Waders: Old waders on the mend.  Really cool idea on how to keep old waders out of the landfill and do something constructive with them.

Little Miss Cutthroat: A song about love, loss, & a Yellowstone cutthroat.

Giving Lonesome Larry a River: In 1992 a single Snake River sockeye salmon named Lonesome Larry returned to Redfish Lake.  Short article on what Lonesome Larry spawned.

Pirates of the Flats: ESPN is producing a six episode fly fishing program which will be showing in January 2010.  The show stars Tom Brokaw, Michael Keaton, Thomas McGuane, Yvon Chouinard, Lefty Kreh, & Val Atkinson as they fish for bonefish in the Bahamas.
