Upcoming Events for Oct

Good morning everyone,

I just want to send out a reminder about next weeks meeting, Oct. 17th.

Troy Pearse is our guest speaker.

Presentation: Troy will be sharing information from ODFW’s “State Of The Owyhee” meeting from last spring along with an update on the Boise Valley Fly Fisher’s work with ODFW to put up new signs in sensitive spawning areas.

Bio: Troy is a steelhead fin-atic, local angler and avid fly-tier. He is a member of Trout Unlimited and the Boise Valley Fly Fishers clubs and ties flies and gives presentations at their yearly Western Idaho Fly Fishing expo. He teaches spey casting and entomology at the Northwest School of Fly Fishing in Boise.

Also we will be doing our annual fall highway clean-up/fishout on Saturday the 19th,between mountain home and the south fork. As usual, we’ll meet at the stage stop for coffee and such (i’m having breakfast myself) around 9am. Then we’ll

caravan up to mile posts 113-115, do our hour of walking and picking up trash.

For those that are wanting to fish right after the hiway clean-up(like me), the south fork is right down the road and the water levels are around 400cfs which is perfect for wading. I’m hoping for excellent weather, but, then again this is Idaho. So bring your fly rod and waders. Also, I heard that our own Nick Bishop will be giving another demonstration on how to use your summer waders as a personal flotation device. Always entertaining.

One last item, if you want to submit your pictures for the 2020 calendar, please send them to wayniac63@gmail.com. But you need to hurry as this takes a while to put together, so get them in.

Thanks everyone,

Randy
