Hello members, are guest speaker this month will be Troy Pearse. His program will be on
FISHING TAILWATERS
Tailwaters provide some of the best fishing in the Treasure Valley and Pacific Northwest. Troy will talk about how tailwaters work including river flows, water temperatures, hatches and how to take advantage of them for the best fishing. He will also talk about tailwater trout habitat issues and things that can be done to improve a tailwater fishery.
BIO
Troy Pearse is an Idaho Native who has been fishing since the day he was born and loves to fly fish for steelhead and trout. He has a special interest in aquatic entomology that led him to develop the Bugometer, a tool to help anglers match the hatch. In 2019, Troy retired from HP, which has given him more time to enjoy all aspects of fly fishing including doing conservation projects with Boise Valley Fly Fishers as their Conservation Director.
Our picnic this year was a great success, sorry for those that couldn’t make it, the weather was perfect along with some great side dishes. Are winner for the Idaho2fly derby drawing was Kent Werber. Make us proud Kent. The derby is held this Saturday June 10 at Ron Sally’s pond. FFI is a proud supporter of the Idaho2fly organization who sponsor this event. See you at the meeting.
