Hello, special thanks to Ken Held for his riverside entomology class, very informative with an interactive collection of bugs gathered on the river. We learned from the samples that the skwala hatch is coming. Ken had a great display and samples of different stages of bugs, we look forward to a future presentation from Ken. Fishing was a bit slow but we all picked up a few fish ,weather was excellent water flows were around 20. Remember the FFI meeting is this Wednesday the 22 with Chris Gerono as our guest speaker presentation is on Streamer fishing don’t miss this one. D.S.

Shout out to all members, our fish out this month will be on the Owyhee River Saturday the 18.We will be meeting at the Garage diner 228 Elgin St Notus for breakfast at 9:00 am and then on to the river. We have a special guest Ken Held giving a river entomology class with fishing to follow, we need a head count to make it worth his while. Hello this months meeting date has been changed to Wed March 22 due to scheduling conflicts, our guest speaker is Chris Gerono from Boise River Guides. The program will be on streamer fishing with discussion on water ,flies and technic. Chris is an awesome guide with many years on the water with a plethora of info, so come on out for a great evening. This month has several events on March 13 at 7:00 pm The fly fishing film tour will be rolling into town at the Egyptian theater, discount tickets are available at the Idaho Angler. Online are around $ 25.00 and change. The fishout this month subject to weather is on Sat the 18th at the Owyhee river, we will meet for breakfast at The Garage 228 Elgin St Notus Id 83656 at 9:00 am, more info closer to this date. Hello all, I hope everyone enjoyed the holidays with family and friends and stayed healthy. We at FFI are looking forward to a new year with fishing and adventures on our minds. The Christmas party was a hoot always a great way to end the year, sorry for those who couldn’t make it. Our meeting this month will ease into the new year with a brief presentation from Keith Murphy President of Idaho 2 fly laying out their mission statement .We at FFI are supporters of this great organization and look forward to giving assistance to future endeavors. Also on the bill is a movie ( Bugs of the underworld). Quick reminder we will be collecting annual dues this month please try to attend. Look forward to seeing you. D.S.

Hello all this month’s program will be presented by Tom Governale. Tom is a guide and casting instructor for Idaho Angler. He has a prepared program on fly fishing still water. Come on out for a great program. This month we will be going over nominations for the coming year on new board members and ideas for the upcoming sportsman show. We will also be having a fish out in town on the Boise river on Saturday the 19 at 10 am. We will be meeting at the fish and game building parking lot 600 Walnut street and branching out from there. The flies to bring would be nymph’s dry’s midges and streamers. This years Christmas party will be held at Casa Mexico 10332 Fairview Ave Boise Id 83704 on Friday Dec 9 next to Harbor Freight at 6 pm. Pricing per person is around $ 21 depending on what menu we decide at the Nov meeting also the White Elephant gift exchange will be part of the festivities. Hello members and guests Oct’s meeting will discuss chironomid fishing how to rig and tie some patterns along with technics and line selection. This presentation will be given by Nick, Joe and Wayne with comments and questions from members. Special thanks to ADA County Paramedics for our September hands on demonstration( Stop the bleed) very informative and educational, this information my save a life. We finally drew the Gene Eberhardt Rod and reel raffle fund raiser package with the winner drawn by Keith Murphy. Thank you for your support and to Gene for this generous FFI donation.
